Memahami Bacaan dengan KWL Method

Pentingnya Prior Knowledge (Pengetahuan Awal) untuk  memahami sebuah bacaan sudah banyak diungkap oleh para ahli. Ogle (1986) memperkenalkan sebuah metode yang diberi nama KWL yang mengadopsi pentingnya penggunaan Prior Knowledge tersebut.

KWL adalah singkatan dari langkah inti dalam metode tersebut. Yaitu:

1. What I Know?

2. What I Want to Know?

3. What I Learned?

Banyak penelitian yang sudah membuktikan efektifitas penggunaan metode ini untuk memahami sebuah bacaan.

Pendekatan, Metode, Desain, dan Prosedur/ Teknik dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa

            Dalam dunia pengajaran, ada beberapa istilah penting yang sering kali membingungkan bagi guru. Istilah-istilah tersebut adalah Pendekatan, Metode, Desain, dan Prosedur. Pemahaman mengenai istilah-istilah ini memang tidak berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap kemampuan mengajar seorang guru, namun akan sangat membantu dalam menyusun administrasi yang pada akhirnya juga berpengaruh kepada kualitas pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Berikut penjabaran sekilas mengenai istilah-istilah tersebut, khususnya dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Penjabaran ini diambil dari buku “Approaches and Methods in Language Teaching” yang ditulis oleh Jack C. Richards dan Tehodore S. Rodgers diterbitkan oleh Cambridge University Press tahun 1986.

Halliday (1978, 2) said that: "Language does not consist of sentences; it consists of texts or discourse the exchange of meanings in interpersonal meanings in interpersonal contexts of one kind or another". In the context of English Language Teaching (ELT), Helena (2020, 2) suggests the following things:

• Language is a system that people use to exchange meanings or to communicate in their daily lives;
• The system consists of grammar, vocabulary, sound, spelling, etc. With the system, students can learn how to create grammatical sentences.

Manfaat Jaringan Komputer

 Jaringan Komputer mempunyai banyak manfaat. Berikut ini manfaat Jaringan Komputer yang dikutip dari berbagai sumber:

1. Dari pengertian-pengertian jaringan komputer yang sudah kita baca, kita bisa menyimpulkan beberapa manfaat jaringan komputer, yaitu:

a. Bertukar dokumen data

b. Menggunakan hardware maupun software (aplikasi) secara Bersama-sama

c. Berkomunikasi

Keamanan Data dalam Jaringan Komputer

Setelah kita mempelajari pengertian dan manfaat jaringan komputer, kita akan melanjutkan pembahasan dengan keaman jaringan komputer. Kita akan mulai pembahasan dengan terlbih dahulu membahas kerugian jaringan komputer. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pembahasan kejahatan dunia maya beserta cara-cara orang menyusup ke dalam jaringan komputer dan cara pengamanan agar jaringan komputer tidak disusupi oleh orang luar.

• Ganti kode warna1 dan warna2 dengan kode warna yang anda inginkan

A natural disaster is a major adverse event resulting from natural processes of the Earth; examples include floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, storms, and other geologic processes. (Wikipedia)

Tsunami

Tsunami, Japanese word meaning “harbor wave,” used as the scientific term for a class of abnormal sea wave that can cause catastrophic damage when it hits a coastline.

Tsunamis can be generated by an undersea earthquake, an undersea landslide, the eruption of an undersea volcano, or by the force of an asteroid crashing into the ocean. The most frequent cause of tsunamis is an undersea earthquake. When the ocean floor is uplifted or offset during an earthquake, a set of waves is created similar to the concentric waves generated by an object dropped into the water.

Animals Vocabulary

 The knowledge about animals is important for us. Thus, having sufficient vocabulary about animal is essential. The followings are some games to develop our vocabulary about animals.

Gorillas

Gorillas

Gorillas are the largest of all the primates. A male gorilla can be 180 centimeters tall and can weigh 200 kilograms. Gorillas are very strong but they do not often fight. In fact they are peaceful animals.

Gorillas live in small family groups of about 15. In a group there is one strong, older male, some young males, and a few females with their babies. They move slowly around a large area of jungle eating leaves and bushes.

In some ways gorillas are very like humans. When they are happy, they laugh and wave their arms. When they are angry, they beat their chests. When they are sad, they cry. But they cry quietly, without any tears.

Unfortunately, people hunt and kill gorillas. They also cut down and burn their trees. There are now only about 10,000 gorillas left in the world.
